New TSV interconnect technology which reduces the gap between dies by 40%, hence allowing for a thinner package of 1.2mm with 8 stacked dies. This has a smaller form factor than 1.2mm of DDR4 which is limited to 4 stacked dies. Also, it is coupled with improved cooling technology for better thermal performance.New Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) with loop unrolling and per-pin VrefDQ calibration. This allows the memory module to support the high speed rate of DDR5 due to better signal stability and variable data path location.Addition of Same Bank Refresh (SBR) which increases DRAM bus speed by 10%.At twice the capacity, there is a high-efficiency power management IC (PMIC) with voltage regulator and High-K Metal gate process to achieve better power efficiency. This is the first 512GB memory module and it is definitely not for consumers as it’s meant for servers and enterprise use.
