Some traditional banks in Uganda are responding with their own mobile apps. Now most banks already offer mobile banking solutions running on mobile telecom platforms. They are using the good-old USSD shortcodes which conveniently run on any phone — including the feature phone (Katochi/Katala). But maybe dialing *211# for instance to use Centenary bank’s CenteMobile banking platform isn’t as fancy and easy as installing a real native app from the Google Play Store. We have taken the liberty to curate a list of all banks that have native Android apps. So, here are all the mobile banking apps for banks operating in Uganda that we found on the Google Play Store.
Centenary bank with CenteMobile
CenteMobile app connects you to your Centenary bank Uganda account and enables you to access your funds for use from your mobile device. The app also has Airtime top up, you can pay for utility bills, do mobile money transactions among other things. Download
Barclays Bank Uganda
Barclays Bank Uganda touts its mobile app as “your Barclays Branch on your Android Phone or Tablet”. The app has a host of features that indeed qualify it as your “Barclays branch” on your device. These include; – View your Accounts – View movements and transactions in your account – Transfer money to own Barclays accounts – Request a Cheque Book – Locate the Barclays Uganda Branch or ATM closest to where you are – Get in direct touch with Barclays from your phone Download
Bank of Africa with BOA Mobile
Bank Of Africa(BOA) markets its mobile app as “step towards Mobile Money and Mobile Wallets”. That said, BOA lets you transfer funds, pay bills. BOA customers can recharge prepaid mobile and DTH and also do lot more while on the go. It’s very small, only 574KB big which means it won’t suck all your phone memory. Download
Postbank Uganda App
If you’re a Postbank Uganda customer and wish to operate your account and transact at non-working hours, then the postbank mobile app is your friend. This app lets you carry out financial transactions by simply utilizing any internet enabled mobile phone. With this app you can check for you balance, pay bills, purchase Airtime and do mobile money transactions. Download
