The Nokia 2 comes running the more recent Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box with the Google Assistant built-in. Powering the econobox is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 that is known for its power efficiency. The Nokia 2 packs just 1GB of RAM. Early reviews suggest that the performance is generally smooth. It is not a crawl as many ignorantly expect as soon as they look at the specifications. This could be because of the barebones version of Android that Nokia is known to run on their devices. Hardware-software optimization of background apps to ensure enough memory is available at all times also helps. A 5-inch LTPS LCD 72op display sits in front of the device. The internal storage is only 8GB with less than 5GB available to the user out of the box. Luckily there is an SD card slot that allows expansion to up to 128 GB.

The Nokia 2 is expected to go on sale in Europe this November with an Africa launch set for early 2018. This will battle the likes of Infinix and Tecno who’s devices have been taunted battery warriors
